They perfectly suit both large outdoor events and small venues. Unlike regular horns that need a considerable distance to show up, they fit for working in the near field.
Horn directivity gives a significant raise in efficiency and provides controll without cardioid arrays, while the sound gets no specific horn coloration and doesn't depend on the venue conditions.
The radial port eliminates distortions caused by turbulent air flows forming at the port outlet at high power.
PH18 was developed as all purpose subwoofer for any kind of rent and installation application. Well balanced weight and dimensions vs efficiency characteristics and conservative choice of frequency range gives a maximum efficiency per 1Watt of power.
The system is based on a light-weight modern speaker with a neodymium magnet, 4" coil and aluminium radiator, which allows working at high power.
This compact horn cab in the volume of standard bass reflex enclosure can outperform most of subwoofers in the same class with it's punchy, deep bass and long throw coverage.
Speaker is covered with impact and abrasion resistant polyurea and can be equipped with rigging hardware.
